Zara Emily is an artist, workshop facilitator and Managing Director of Weston Artspace. She specialises in screen printing and creative health workshops, delivering accessible, hands-on sessions that support wellbeing, connection and confidence through making.

Through her work she has taught hundreds of people the joy of creativity across North Somerset. While screen printing remains central to her practice, she also delivers workshops in lino printing, mono printing, collographs, and a wide range of screen printing and dyeing techniques. Her sessions explore both traditional and experimental processes, encouraging playful mark-making, layering and individual expression.

Zara also has experience leading zine-making workshops, using found images and text to build layered textures and visual narratives. The physical, tactile and often “imperfect” quality of the work remains central to its appeal, with zines offering an accessible, community-oriented way to connect like-minded individuals through shared stories and creative voice.

Zara holds a BA (Hons) in Textile Design from Winchester School of Art and previously worked for 10 years as a Technical Instructor in Printed Textiles at Loughborough University. Alongside her teaching, she creates hand-drawn printed textiles and continues to champion accessible arts opportunities in her role as Managing Director of Weston Artspace, supporting artists and community creativity in the town.
